I was so moved by the outpouring of goodwill in our Gator Nation that we had to bring you these touching photos of the people in our community that rallied in support of a good cause last December to help a needy family for ABC’s show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The lucky recipients of a brand new home were the Wagstaff family. This family of six lives in Northeast Gainesville and run a non-profit music business.
In these tight economic times it is hard for anyone to take time away from their business but many local companies did just that. They volunteered their time, materials and products and worked 12 hour shifts to build a house from the ground up in just seven days! It was an incredible selfless act of kindness and a wonderful sight to see.
There were not only tons of trades-people but hundreds of spectators that had driven from all over the state to cheer them on. From young children to grandmothers, they were there supporting the Gainesville community.
Good Life Community wants to honor these local heroes and we hope that if you recognize them and their businesses in these photographs you will give them a call and help support them.
